PROGRAMS FOR 2010

Please keep our programming in mind as you plan your curriculum for the upcoming year. Our multi-purpose room can be used for children to eat their lunch, and of course there is Woodland Gardens behind the Museum for them to run off some steam!

  • Artifact Huntcan be adapted to various ages, 20-30 minutes
  • Examining Old Photographs of Bridgewater, ages 7-12, 15 minutes
  • Analyzing Artifacts, ages 7-12, 5 minutes for each artifact
  • How Bridgewater Became a Town, board game, ages 9-12, up to 8 players, takes 30 minutes (shorter time if less players)
  • Clothing in 1890’s, ages 6-9, takes about 30 minutes if kids cut out their own clothes for the paper dolls, less if they only color them and glue them on.
  • Once upon a time there was a little town…a large size story book of the growth of Bridgewater to 1899. Can be read to children, or used as an aid for another program or activity.
  • Girls Then (1890) and Now, developed for Girl Guides, ages 9-12 (Heritage Badge)
  • Quilt a Story – developed for Brownies, each girl is given a paper quilt block and a photo from the DesBrisay Collection. She can color her block any color, placing the photo in the centre. The Brownies take their blocks back to the Guide Cabin and put them together on the wall.
  • Clothing in the Past – coloring pictures of fashion through the centuries, cute poem about clothes in the olden times, developed for Sparks, age 5-7.
