The house had central projecting dormer with pedimented gable and an unusual flared roof line, and capital mouldings on corner boards. The house has nice corner boards and a nice veranda with central doorway.
This house was built for John L. Nelson around 1880. It appears on the A.F. Church map of Lunenburg County dating from 1883. On the deed, Nelson is described as a "gentleman", who bought the lot for $375.
