Address: 400 Aberdeen Rd.

Heritage Status: None
Built:  c. 1911
Builder/Architect: Albert Westhaver
Style: Four Square

Architecture:

  • This large sturdy house is built in the four square tradition with its steeply pitched hip roof and large dormer extending out of it. Also note the veranda and bracketting and turned columns, poles and railings which adorn it.

History:

  • Albert Westhaver, a farmer, built this house in 1911. Westhaver was a big man (6'6") and, as a result, built all his doorways to fit him. What looks like a barn behind the house is actually a woodshed (overszed to accomodate Mr. Westhaver). This was Westhaver's farmhouse.
