Address: 97 Alexandra Ave.

Heritage Status: None
Built:  Early 1880s
Builder/Architect: Unknown
Style: Greek Revival

Architecture:

  • This simply designed house remains quite intact. Original moulded trim around the second-storey windows and on the front bay window is still in place. The lack of similar trim around the front doors leads to the conclusion that the main door may have been filled in and modernized at some point. A two-storey addition at the rear adds to its character.

History:

  • The home is listed as "A. Veinot" on the A.F. Church Map of Bridgewater, made in 1883. William Owen also owned the home, Owen being a well known barrister, U.S. consular agent, and master of the Supreme Court.
