Address: 821 LaHave St.

Heritage Status: None
Built: c.1840 Builder/Architect: John C. Cook
Style: Maritime Vernacular

Architecture:

  • This house is reminiscent of Maritime Vernacular and although drastically renovated still retains its original central triangular dormer, and gabled roof. The owner has sympathetically reproduced its 6 over 6 sashes on the gable end in its renovations.

History:

  • This house was built for, and quite possibly by, John C. Cook. He lived from 1802 until 1881 and appears to have built this house when he was about forty years old. This house relates strongly to the Cook (originally Koch) family history of the era.
