- This mid-19th century house remains quite intact. The wing with the gothic dormer in its roof may have been an addition to the larger gabled roof section, but is old enough to be regarded as part of its original structure. Wide cornerboards and clapboards are still in place. Classical mouldings frame the transom and sidelights around the main door and there are hood mouldings over windows and the door on the main façade. Note the pointed, multi-paned, gothic window in the dormer.
History:
- The house was probably built for Daniel Owen and rented by him. The owner of the property is identified on the A.F. Church map of Bridgewater (c.1883) as "D.Owen". Daniel Owen was a lawyer who resided in Lunenburg with real estate interests in Bridgewater.
