History: Mr. Lupean L. Conrad and his wife, Lottie had this house built by Dean Beck in 1934. Lupean was a worker for the Halifax and South Western Railroad before the beginning of the Second World War. When War broke out, Lupean signed up and was a Private in the 25th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force in which he served until 1945 when he was killed in action. After Lupean’s death, Lottie built an addition on to the kitchen. Source: Built Heritage Files, DesBrisay Museum; Nova Scotia Historical Vital Statistics
