Protect your Loved Ones- Adopt a Fire Hydrant |

The Town of Bridgewater and Bridgewater Fire Department encourage residents to adopt a fire hydrant and protect their loved ones, their homes and their businesses.
Why adopt a fire hydrant? After a snow storm, the Town’s Public Works crews work hard to remove snow from streets and sidewalks to make travel safer. Once streets and sidewalks are clear, crews begin clearing snow from around fire hydrants.
If a fire happens before snow has been cleared from around hydrants, Fire Fighters must shovel out the hydrant before they can get access to the water supply, wasting precious minutes which should be spent actively fighting the fire.
The Bridgewater Fire Department is asking for your help to keep snow cleared from around the fire hydrants in your area.
How to adopt: Pick up your shovel. It couldn’t be easier. No need to sign up, no fees, no need to even call. Just take a few minutes to remove the snow from around the hydrants nearest you.
