Architecture:

  • This turn of the century gable roofed house is built quite simply with the returned eaves and detail in the cornice being the only decorative architectural feature. Replacement door and windows have been the only alterations to this otherwise intact home.

History:

  • Robert Dawson Jr. purchased this lot from other heirs of Robert Dawson Sr. in 1896. It appears that he built this house around the turn of the century. Robert Dawson Jr. helped run his father's shipping business known as R. Dawson and Sons, one of the original and oldest businesses in Bridgewater.
