55 Jubilee

Address: 55 Jubilee Rd.

Heritage Status: None
Built: 1885 to 1890 Builder/Architect: Unknown
Style: Reminiscent of Greek Revival

  • This house is reminiscent of Greek Revival with its gable roof, return eaves, centralized chimney and moulded window hoods. Note the projecting bay on the side of the house which is fairly intact. This house is located in the vicinity of a number of other houses of the same vintage (c.1880-1890).

  • Original owner of the property was a farmer named Jacob Hebb. John H. Publicover, a yeoman, bought the property in 1885 and probably built the house between then and 1890 when he sold it to Milledge Mailman, a mariner.
