0169 King Street

Address: 169 King St.
|
Heritage Status: None |
Built: c. 1880 |
Builder/Architect: Unknown |
Style: Cape Cod |
Architecture:
- Deeds do not establish the vintage of this house beyond 1880, however, by its low slung "cape cod" style, it could date back into the 1860's or earlier. Modern alterations including the stovepipe, masonite siding, enclosure and covering of main door have reduced the architectural integrity of the house.
|
History:
- The A. F. Church Map (c. 1883) identifies this house as"J. Hebb". The deed of 1879 quotes "Robert Dawson et al" as the heirs of J. Hebb. He is presumed to have been the original owner of the house. This house belongs to one of the earliest neighbourhoods of Bridgewater.
