Address: 6 Pearl St. Heritage Status: None
Built: c.1880-1883 Builder/Architect: Unknown
Style: Maritime Vernacular/ Greek Revival

  • This house has some elements of the Greek Revival style, such as a gabled roof, returned eaves, and a chimney centrally located at the peak. The three-sided Scottish dormer and front porch, however, are deviations from this late 19th century style and indicate Maritime Vernacular.

  • This house appears to have been built for W.  Bushen. Although he did not purchase this property until 1887, it appears in his name on the Church Map, c. 1883. It is possible that Bushen was allowed to live in this house, prior to his actual purchase. William Bushen was a carriage maker who has a shop on the adjacent lot.
