Bridgewater Community Gardens is a program of the Recreation Division of the Town of Bridgewater's Community Development Department. It is managed by the Community Gardens Coordinator, supported by a team of community volunteers, and overseen by the Town of Bridgewater.

Flourish 55+ Healthy Activity Cooperative is a not-for-profit organization that promotes Mental, Social and Physical Recreation for people in Bridgewater, Lunenburg County and the South Shore of Nova Scotia.

From 1860 to 1968, this water-powered mill lightened the workload for Nova Scotian farm families by carding a week’s worth of wool in one hour! See the very machine that revolutionized carding in the area and imagine the clatter as it prepared wool for bedding and spinning. Step outside and picture the line of ox carts that would wait patiently as women operators processed loads of sheep fleece. Open seasonally. --Wile Carding Mill will remain closed to the public until further notice. (2023-07-28) --

We are proudly the hub of heritage, art, and culture for Bridgewater and Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia. The DesBrisay museum is home to many clubs offering near daily programming and special events throughout the year. We provide residents with a safe social space to learn new skills, many made possible through our refreshed Heritage Gallery. Visit us to learn about Bridgewater’s colourful history, see local folk art, research your heritage home, and explore our interactive and fun exhibits for children. Check out our Gift Shop with local history books, children’s toys, giftware, and work by artisans across Lunenburg County. You can visit the DesBrisay Museum for free all year long! Donations are still kindly accepted and there may still be fees associated with specific programming or events.
