On September 14, 2020 staff brought forward a report requesting Council provide direction on amending the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law to provide greater flexibility in permissions of the Special Commercial (C8) Zone and on rezoning C8 properties where the identified commercial use has been discontinued.
The intent of the application is to reduce the limitations of the C8 Zone that have created issues for property owners and prospective buyers. The amendments would add a list of uses permitted through the Development Agreement process.
Council directed staff to begin the amendment process.
A public participation meeting will be held, but a date has not been set. The meeting details will be added on the Public Input tab as well as posted in the South Shore Breaker and on the Town's Facebook page.
