History:
Charles Foley bought ¾ of an acre for $137 in 1872. He subdivided the land into tow lots (also 249 King Street). He sold this lot to Aaron Smeltzer, a cordwainer, in 1876 for $550, which suggests the existence of a house at least partially under construction. Source: Built Heritage Files, DesBrisay Museum
