History: This home was built for Robert Dawson, a successful merchant. Robert Dawson Jr. was the next to own the home and run the family business, and he was also the town mayor from 1910 to 1914. The third generation, Robert MacGregor Dawson, was a professor of science who published a biography of William Lyon MacKenzie King.
