Architecture:

• This "L" shaped, gable roofed house is substantially intact. Its interesting features include belt course mouldings and decorative shingle work on the main and dormer gables, returned eaves, brackets under the projecting dormer, and a low gable on the veranda roof which emphasizes the location of the main door. 

History:

• Leaman Sarty was a machinist at the Acadia Gas Engine Company. The house is built on the site of the cook house for Chase's Mill. The mill was located across the street where Chase's Brook (now Veinot's Brook) meets LaHave River. The cook house was torn down in 1902. Leaman also built the house next door at #25 King Street.
