Getting a licence for your dog - it's the law!
A dog licence helps protect your pet by providing an easy-to-identify dog tag and registration with the Town of Bridgewater.
THE BENEFITS OF GETTING A DOG LICENCE
There are many different benefits to licensing your dog with the Town of Bridgewater!
A current licence will help the Town or Bridgewater Police Service reunite lost dogs with their owners in the event your furry friend is on the run and found by someone else in the community. A current licence also means that if your dog ends up in a pound, it will be easy to locate you and arrange for his quick return home.
An up-to-date dog licence also keeps you in line with the Town's Dog By-law, ensuring that you won't be charged a fine of over $220.00 for an unregistered dog.
All dogs must be registered annually by April 1 of each year. Dog licence fees are as follows:
Neutered/Spayed - $10 each
Unneutered/Unsprayed - $30 each
NEW LIFETIME TAG OPTION
When you pay your annual registration, you can keep your tag and registration number! If you love them, license them!
For more information on the Lifetime Tag program, please give us a call at 902-543-4651 or visit our front counter staff at Town Hall, located at 60 Pleasant Street in Bridgewater.
