The Parks, Recreation & Active Transportation Advisory Committee is a Committee of the Town whose objectives are to promote healthy living and to enhance the quality of life for everyone in the Town of Bridgewater by providing access to a wide range of recreational and active living opportunities; and to support and advise on the Town of Bridgewaters efforts to become an active transportation-supportive community.
The Committee provides a platform for public input and involvement with respect to matters pertaining to any agreements entered into by the Town for the enhancement of recreation and park opportunities for its citizens; and creates opportunities for the community to contribute to Council's decision-making process for the Brookside Cemetery policies, programs, projects, and services.
The Committee helps to establish and support partnerships with community organizations and promote projects and programs to designed to enhance active transportation in Bridgewater.
The Committee consists of ten members - one member of Council, eight adult (19+) residents, and one student (under 19) from a school in the community. The current Council member for this committee is Deputy Mayor Jennifer McDonald.
