CHRISTMAS ON THE LAHAVE MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT!
The Town of Bridgewater is incredibly excited to announce that the presenting partners for the 2024 Christmas on the LaHave Parade of Lights are Gow’s Home Hardware and Rhyno’s Heating, Refrigeration, Plumbing and Electrical.

We are thrilled to have two longstanding Bridgewater businesses play such a pivotal role in supporting this year’s Parade of Lights – and we know both businesses and their staff are excited to help the community usher in the Bridgewater Shines Festive season and welcome Santa Claus himself to Town as the highlight of the parade!

PARADE ONLINE REGISTRATION NOW AVAILABLE
We’re now one month away from the Christmas on the LaHave Parade of Lights, which will take place on Saturday, November 30, beginning at 6 p.m. Weather permitting, the parade will conclude with a fireworks display made possible by the Bridgewater Fire Department at approximately 7:15 p.m. – please note, the fireworks display will take place timed to the arrival of Santa in the downtown and may vary slightly depending on the pace of the parade.

If you or your business or organization are interested in entering a float in this year’s parade, please review the full list of rules and regulations, then complete the application form at www.bridgewater.ca/parade and submit it prior to end of day on Thursday, November 28, 2024.

NEW! SENSORY FRIENDLY ZONE
We are excited to share that in partnership with the South Shore Chapter of Autism Nova Scotia, a Sensory Friendly Zone will be part of the parade route this year, from the NSCC along High Street to the upper part of Empire Street. This zone is ideal for anyone of any age who wishes to take in the parade experience but has challenges with loud noises and flashing/strobing lights.

Autism Nova Scotia volunteers will be present in the parade marshalling area to remind parade participants to keep loud music and strobing lights turned off. Volunteers will also be at the "end" of the zone on Empire Street to signal you to turn on your lights and music upon exiting the area.
