Residents, neighbours, and visitors, please join us in Bridgewater as we celebrate our annual Christmas on the LaHave!

Kicking off November 27, 2026, we’re introducing a new community tradition, our Community Christmas Tree Lighting! The festivities will continue on November 28th with our annual Christmas on the LaHave Parade of Lights and Fireworks Show. Twinkling by night, Bridgewater Shines will also illuminate this weekend and continue nightly into 2027.

Pijinuiskaq Park Look-Off, King Street, Downtown Bridgewater, NS

Everyone is invited to gather for a new event for our community. We’ve enjoyed a beautiful tree illuminated here annually for many years, but this year, we’re gathering for an official community tree lighting! There will be Christmas Caroling, hot chocolate, and a countdown to lighting our tree. Everyone is welcome and invited!

Michelin Parade of Lights and Fireworks

Saturday, November 28, 2026, 6:00 p.m.
Bridgewater, NS

Bundle up and join us for our annual Christmas on the LaHave Parade of Lights presented by Micheline, and Fireworks!
The 2026 Parade will take place on Saturday, November 28th, starting at 6:00 p.m. with the route departing from the Nova Scotia Community College Lunenburg Campus on High Street, continuing down Empire Street and along King Street, ending at Dufferin Street. 

Following the Parade, approximately 7:15 PM join us for a spectacular fireworks display over the LaHave River in Downtown Bridgewater.

Parade Highlights:

• Honourary Parade Marshalls
• Letters for Santa will be collected along the route
• Donations/contributions for the Food Bank will be collected along the route
• Performance by the Bridgewater Fire Department Band (TBC)
• The Bridgewater Farmers' Market will have a Pop-Up Shop at 123 Empire Street (TBC)
• Sensory Friendly Area will be between NSCC on High Street to Empire Street intersection. This zone is ideal for anyone of any age who wishes to take in the parade experience but has challenges with loud noises and flashing/strobing lights.

Annually more than 60 companies and organizations participate in our Christmas on the LaHave Parade of Lights. The Parade will take place on Saturday, November 28, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The route take approximately 1 hour to complete. Weather permitting, the parade will conclude with a fireworks display made possible by the Bridgewater Fire Department at approximately 7:15 p.m. Please note, the fireworks display will take place timed to the arrival of Santa in the downtown, and may vary slightly depending on the pace of the parade.

*New for 2026! The Parade of Lights means floats are trimmed in holiday lights! Thanks to a new partnership with Gow’s Home Hardware, they will be extending a Parade preferred rate for lights at the store. Details to be provided upon registration.

November 27 - January 2, Bridgewater, NS

As night falls, make plans to meander and enjoy light installations throughout the Holiday Season in and around Downtown Bridgewater.
Visit and take family photos around the Community Christmas Tree at Pijinuiskaq Park, stroll Riverside Walk to see the Light Tree, the Grinch, and King Street Court is magic by night, and the Downtown Bridgewater Businesses invite you to enjoy ‘Candy Cane Lane’!
