Public Participation Meeting -- Proposed amendments to the Land Use By-law to update the definition of “Residential Care Facility, Home for Special Care, Group Home or Small Option Homes”

Bridgewater Town Council is considering proposed amendments to the Land Use By-law (LUB) to update the definition of “Residential Care Facility, Home for Special Care, Group Home or Small Option Homes”. The current definition allows for a community-based group living arrangement, for individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. The proposed amendment would include the addition of survivors of gender-based violence and would apply to all residential zones as well as some commercial and institutional zones within the Town.

A Public Meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 in Council Chambers at Town Hall (60 Pleasant St, Bridgewater). Registration is required by July 29, 2025.
