Public Hearing -- Proposed Text Amendments to the Land Use By-law

Bridgewater Town Council is considering amendments to the Land Use By-law to update the definition of “Residential Care Facility, Home for Special Care, Group Home or Small Option Homes”. The current definition allows for a community-based group living arrangement, for individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. The proposed amendment would include the addition of survivors of gender-based violence and would apply to all residential zones as well as some commercial and institutional zones within the Town.

A Public Hearing will be held by Council at 6:00PM on October 27, 2025, in Council Chambers at Town Hall (60 Pleasant St, Bridgewater), at which time oral presentations and written submissions concerning the proposed amendments will be considered. This is the final opportunity for public input.
