The Town of Bridgewater is seeking interested individuals, with a willingness to offer his/her/their time, knowledge, and suggestions/ideas, to serve on various committees of the Town. The committees currently seeking citizen, youth, and/or stakeholder representation are as follows:

  • Downtown Planning Advisory Committee DPAC was been keenly active in providing advice and direction to Town Council and staff during the planning and execution of the 2016 Take Back The Riverbank project, as well as other projects and proposals up for consideration that will have a particular impact on, but not necessarily limited to, the King Street area of Bridgewater. The committee typically meets every other month at Town Hall. (2 Stakeholder members and 4 "at large" members needed).
  • Parks, Recreation & Culture Advisory Committee: Its objective is to promote recreation and culture among residents within Town and advise Council on matters affecting the development and maintenance of recreation facilities, programs, and services - (1 Citizen Rep)

  • Energize Bridgewater Advisory Committee

Energize Bridgewater is a community-wide initiative transitioning Bridgewater to a clean and affordable energy economy.  This Committee will provide oversight for the Energize Bridgewater Program.  This includes championing and advisiing the Town on energy sustainability, affordability and accessibility.   Bridgewater is on a path to make energy affordable, accessible, and sustainable for all residents.  We need people on this Committee who want to share their voice on how Bridgewater can achieve this future.   This is a community-wide led initiative and Committee members will have a direct role in shaping several of Bridgewater's projects.

Committee members will play a key role in advisiing the Town on its Energy Poverty Reduction Program and promoting engagement of stakeholders and residents.   The Committee meets once every 2 months.  The Committee includes a diverse range of voices to make sure the needs of all Bridgewater's residents are met by the Energize Bridgewater Program.   The Committee is made up of residents impacted by energy poverty, and representatives from the social services, energy, transportation, financial, and housing sectors. The Committee is recruiting for:

1 Resident member - Priority given to residents of Bridgewater who self-identify as: youth (under 35 years of age), senior (65 yars of age or over), members of minority groups includiing the indigenous community, and those who have lived experience of energy poverty. 

2 Stakeholders - Business and organization representatives are sought for each of the following sectors:

  • Social Service organzations that serve marginalized or low-income residents of Bridgewater; and
  • Housing sector.
