On September 14, 2020 Council directed staff to begin the process of amending the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law to provide greater flexibility in permissions of the Special Commercial (C8) Zone and to rezone C8 properties where the identified commercial use has been discontinued.
The intent of the application is to reduce the limitations of the C8 Zone that have created issues for property owners and prospective buyers. The amendments would add a list of uses permitted through the Development Agreement process. A map showing the location of the C8 Zone properties is included on this page.
