An application was received on May 12, 2021 for a rezoning of the property located at 677 LaHave Street. The subject property is currently zoned General Commercial (C5), and the owners are requesting to rezone the property to Two Unit Residential (R2) to enable the subdivision of three (3) separate lots for single unit dwelling or two unit dwelling development. A public participation meeting was held on June 23, 2021, at 6:00pm in Council Chambers at Town Hall. Notification was provided to all properties within 30m (100ft) of the property. Two staff and one member of the public were in attendance. Notice was published on June 16, 2021, in the South Shore Breaker for one week prior to the meeting. There were no comments received prior to the July 2 deadline.

The first reading for the application to rezone 677 LaHave Street from General Commercial (C5) to Two-unit Residential was brought to Council on July 12, 2021 and the following resolution was passed.
Resolition 21-136:
That Council for the Town of Bridgewater give first consideration to the proposed map amendments of the Land Use By-law as contained in Appendix A of Document 21-080A and schedule a Public Hearing for August 9, 2021, during the regular meeting of Council.
