Application Overview - Completed
The Nova Scotia Department Of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal (TIR) is constructing a new interchange off Highway 103. The new interchange, Exit 12A, will connect the existing Bridgewater Business Park with 125 acres of developable land north of the highway. The new diamond interchange will tie directly into the northern section of Logan Road and will reroute trucks away from Wentzell Drive, North Park Street, and St. Phillips Street; and will create opportunity for local commercial and industrial retail expansion and relocation. The project will also include installation of a new watermain and sewer lines to connect the new business park area to the existing town infrastructure.
In anticipation of greater access to these developable lands and with a desire to facilitate rapid development that is suitable to the area and the interests of the public, staff are proposing a new zone in the area immediately adjacent to Highway 103. A new zone within the Land Use By-law would necessitate new Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS) policy framework and supporting statements.
