This application originates from Council discussions on January 23, 2023, regarding the Special Commercial (C8) Zone and Neighbourhood Commercial (C7) Zone (Document # 20-158B), as well as previous discussions on October 3, 2022, related to staff exploring alternatives to the restrictive development permissions of the Special Commercial (C8) Zone, based on input from landowners and staff.
The work would include a review of the Neighbourhood Commercial (C7) Zone and possible updates to the C7 Zone permitted developments and zone standards, the rezoning of certain C8 properties to C7, as well as related redesignations under the Future Land Use Map of the Municipal Planning Strategy.
Passed Resolution 23-098:
that Council for the Town of Bridgewater direct staff to begin the process of amending the Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS) to redesignate C8 Zone properties, potentially removing the enabling C8 policies in the MPS and create new policy framework within the Limited Commercial Designation.

that Town Council for the Town of Bridgewater approve the amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law as contained in Appendix "A" of document# 24-008A with respect to Neighbourhood Commercial (C7) and Special Commercial (C8) Zones, and hereby give 2nd and Final Reading.
Amendments are effective as of April 10, 2024.
