Application Overview - Completed
Growth and development across the Town are placing an increasing strain on the Town’s service infrastructure, including roads, water, sanitary and storm sewer systems. Staff continue to engage with developers regarding multi-unit residential development; however, the lack of capacity in the Town’s systems, especially within the central wastewater system, becomes the most difficult part of those discussions.
This application involves amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law with respect to interim actions to address wastewater capacity issues for as-of-right development in Bridgewater. The proposed amendments would require a downstream sanitary
sewer capacity assessment be submitted for all development, regardless of type and zone, where a new or upsized sanitary sewer connection is necessary to accommodate the development/use.
Resolution 23-176:
that Town Council for the Town of Bridgewater direct staff to begin the Municipal Planning Strategy Amendment process to enable amendments to the Land Use By-law (LUB) in a manner similar to those outlined in document# 23-077B.
