Town of Bridgewater Legistlative Advertising

PUBLIC NOTICE - TOWN OF BRIDGEWATER LEGISLATIVE ADVERTISING
The Town of Bridgewater has recently changed providers for print advertising related to legislative changes, public meetings, and other items that the Town is required to advertise in print media under the Municipal Government Act.
Going forward, the public may find such required advertising published in SaltWire Network print productions, including the South Shore Breaker and/or The Chronicle Herald.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO GROUPS/ORGANIZATIONS CONSIDERING APPLYING FOR TOWN GRANT

This is a notice to all groups and/or organizations considering applying for grants from the Town of Bridgewater for the remaining 2018/19 fiscal year.
As of August 13, 2018 all funds in the town's 2018/2019 Grants to Organizations account have been expended.
Effective immediately, there will be no further acceptance of applications for grants for the remainder of this fiscal year (to March 31, 2019).
Big Ex Parade Map 2018

The Town of Bridgewater wishes to advise motorists that during the Big Ex Annual Parade, many of the streets in the central west side of Bridgewater are closed to through traffic furing the parade, Tuesday, 24 July 2018 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The streets will open after the parade passes. During the parade, motorists are advised to take the alternate route: Victoria Rd.; William Wile Rd,; Century Dr.; Route 3 - Dufferin St.; or Jubilee Rd. to avoid delays and / or gain access to your destination.

The 2016 Canadian Census

The 2016 Census is coming!
Canada's next census is being conducted this month.
Early in May, census packages will be delivered to households in Bridgewater and right across Canada, providing residents with the information they need to complete their questionnaire online or on paper.
Completed questionnaires will provide valuable information that will be used by all levels of government to make decisions about your neighbourhood and community. Information obtained through the census is needed to plan services such as child care, schooling, family services, housing, public transportation and skills training for employment.
Every person, young and old, must be included in the 2016 Census.

Facade Public Info Open House

There will be an Information Meeting held on Thursday, May 5, regarding the Town of Bridgewater's newly announced commitment to the creation of a Façade Improvement Program.
The meeting will take place beginning at 8 a.m. and run until 10 a.m. in the Committee Room of Town Hall, located on the second floor at 60 Pleasant Street in Bridgewater.
Recently, Bridgewater Town Council endorsed the concept of a Bridgewater Façade Improvement program, designed to augment buildings in the King Street Architectural Control Area, located in the community's downtown core.
Pending Council's official budget approval for the project in May, the program will be administered and overseen through the formation of a Façade Improvement Society. The Society's Board of Directors will be responsible for reviewing applications and selecting the projects that best fit the objectives of the program.
Anyone with questions about the Façade Improvement Program or an interest in serving on the Society's Board of Directors is encouraged to attend the meeting.
Important Notice re: Change to Water Accounts

At the September 8, 2011 meeting of the Public Service Commission of Bridgewater, in accordance with the rules and regulations as approved by the NS Utility & Review Board, a motion was made "that no new accounts in the names of tenants be opened and all new accounts in the name of tenants be converted to accounts in the names of the owners of the properties by March 31, 2013".
